Gippsland IC/INI Project Report

Please find attached some of the findings of a scoping project undertaken with a sample of agencies across the Gippsland region to see where people are ‘at’ in regards to IC/INI processes & issues. The project work was completed by Pat Lovelock and Fiona York under the auspice of the Gippsland SC/ICDM Task Group. 

The overall objective of the Project was to gather information that will help us identify effective improvement strategies in order to ‘facilitate consistent and streamlined approaches to Initial Contact (IC) and Initial Needs Identification (INI) across health care providers in the Gippsland region’. There will be a need to ‘drill down’ some of the priority issues that have been flagged in this survey to really get a clear idea of the factors getting in the way of good practice, however, this is a valuable start & you may find some results that reflect the status of your own catchment.
